Scammer who ‘cheated’ man of Rs 7.5 lakh held
Dhan Singh Negi wanted to earn some quick money to supplement his earnings. He ended up being duped of Rs 7,48,574. The accused, Ankit Gupta (35), has been arrested.
On April 10, Negi came in contact with a woman on the Telegram app, who convinced him that with one or two hours of his day, he could earn a significant amount of money from investing, said police. The woman shared a form with him. “She asked him to fill in all the details – name, age, occupation, marital status, bank account details – to open his ‘working account.’ The complainant filled all details as desired by the fraudsters,” said DCP, South West, Rohit Meena.
