How Huawei surpassing Apple in China may mean ‘bad news’ for some developers

Huawei is reportedly planning to take a cut of the in-app purchases that customers make on its Harmony mobile operating system. Until now, the Chinese smartphone maker kept HarmonyOS free to lure developers and publishers. This rumoured move may come after the company recently grew more confident in competing with Apple in the world’s largest smartphone market.
