Pixel 8 series gets Gemini Nano in Google’s latest Feature Drop

Google’s latest Pixel Feature Drop for eligible Pixel devices is here, introducing significant features for the latest Pixel 8 series of smartphones. This includes the expansion of on-device generative AI capability powered by Gemini Nano to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a. The update also enables wired screen mirroring on the entire Pixel 8 lineup via the USB-C port.

Pixel Feature Drop is a quarterly software update that Google releases to introduce new features to Pixel smartphones. The June 2024 version is particularly notable as it enables on-device AI processing for the Pixel 8a and Pixel 8, a feature previously limited to the Pixel 8 Pro.
