Meta brings WhatsApp like ‘communities’ group chat to Facebook Messenger — what it is, how to use

News comes in that Meta is rolling out a new “Communities” feature on Messenger, as reported by TechCrunch.

The feature is expected to be designed to help organizations, schools and other private groups communicate in a more structured and organised way. However, earlier Meta had already introduced Communities on WhatsApp back in 2022.

What’s the update?

Reportedly, Meta’s ‘Communities’ compiles multiple group chats into one place. Each Community features has a dedicated “Home” space where admins can share updates and announcements. Meta explained that its ‘Communities,’ can hold up to 5,000 people, where everyone can join a community through shareable invites.
