Hairline screen cracks on iPhone, Apple Watch no longer covered under standard warranty
Apple seems to have made a huge change to its standard warranty policy for the iPhone and the Apple Watch. According to a new report by 9to5Mac citing multiple sources, the Cupertino-based tech giant will no longer cover “single hairline cracks” on the screens of its smartphones and smartwatches under the normal warranty. Instead it will be labelled as “accidental damage”.
This simply means users will now have to pay to get these devices fixed. Up until now, Apple treated single hairline cracks under its standard warranty policy as long as there was no other visible damage.
