A massive cyberattack in 2023 disabled thousands of US internet routers, attributed to an unidentified hacking group by Lumen Technologies’ Black Lotus Labs. The attack disrupted internet access and affected rural communities, healthcare providers, and farming operations. AT&T also faced a major outage earlier in February due to a software glitch.
