Airtel’s $100 bn market capitalisation reflects a stable economy under a solid leader: Sunil Mittal

A meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2018 was the turning point in the life cycle of Bharti Airtel, which on May 27 crossed $100 billion in market capitalisation. Speaking to Romit Guha and Kiran Rathee, Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Enterprises, the parent of Bharti Airtel, said the telco was an institution and its resurgence after the turbulence of Reliance Jio’s entry and the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) ruling reflected India’s stable economy and supportive policies under a strong leader.
