Your WhatsApp profile photos may soon get a generative AI twist — know what it is

WhatsApp is reportedly working to introduce a new AI feature that generates profile pictures, as part of its latest beta version 2.24.11.17. This feature seems to build on the app’s existing AI-generated stickers, pushing the capabilities of artificial intelligence further in enhancing user experience. WABetaInfo, a trusted source for WhatsApp updates, spotted this feature and provided a glimpse of its functionality through a screenshot.

The new tool is expected to be accessible either within the pencil/edit tab in the profile picture settings or through a dedicated tab, similar to the existing Avatars feature. This tool will allow users to describe the desired image, which the AI will then generate, much like the process for creating AI stickers.
