Government asks Israel’s Tower to rework chip fab proposal

The government has asked Tower Semiconductor to rework its proposal for setting up a chip fabrication unit in India as it wants the Israeli company to onboard a technology partner that has “better technology and can offer advanced nodes” for manufacturing, said a senior government official.
