Oppo India launches self-help service for smartphone support
Smartphone brand Oppo India on Friday launched a new digital service, Oppo Self-Help Assistant, which can be used by users to get resolution of their queries without visiting a service centre.
Oppo India said in a statement that the service covers all of its smartphones across the A, F, K, Reno, and Find series, launched within the last five years.
The brand said that the program aligns with the Indian government’s ‘right to repair’ framework and it is designed to provide users with comprehensive support and guidance.
“Indian consumers are very tech-savvy, and this portal provides users with all the information they would need to troubleshoot their OPPO smartphones without making a trip to the service centre,” said Savio D’Souza, Director of Product Communications at Oppo India. “With the Self-Help Assistant, OPPO makes things simpler for consumers; this initiative is about empowering them and enhancing their experience of owning an OPPO device.”
OPPO India users can access the Self-Help Assistant by visiting the OPPO website or its mobile application. Users will need to select their device from the interface, after which they can choose between the ‘simulations’ and ‘troubleshooting’ options that are displayed on the left side. Customers can also check the complete specifications of their device.
Under simulations, users can access over 400 settings and functions—including camera, memory, recording, backup, Wi-Fi & hotspot—by typing queries into the search box or selecting options from the menu.
With troubleshooting, users can resolve software issues around data, network, and device support after answering a few questions. In the case of unresolved issues, users can input their contact information for a follow-up by an Oppo India customer support representative, as per the statement.
In the next phase, Oppo India’s Self-Help Assistant aims to offer multilingual support and integrate IoT (Internet of Things) products to further enhance its self-service.
