Spectrum Charges for Captive Users

DoT has revised the methodology to levy spectrum charges on captive users by rationalising the fees paid by such players. Now, DoT will be charging for spectrum based on area as against the number of devices earlier.

According to the notification, the successful processing of application for assignment of radio frequency, a Letter of Intent (LoI) will be issued to the applicant which include, among others, information about the license fee and royalty charge (collectively called spectrum charges) required to be paid. Spectrum charges shall be informed for the full period of the assignment requested.
