BSNL set to unveil 4G services in UP East
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is gearing up to launch 4G services in its UP East circle from February.
Rajesh Kumar Soni, general manager of BSNL, UP East, informed reporters on Thursday that the work to provide 4G services is in its final stages. The upgrade of existing 2G and 3G SIMs to 4G SIMs will be offered free of charge to existing customers. Additionally, BSNL is actively working to extend 4G services to villages where no telecom operator currently offers any service.
In light of the proposed consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22, the public sector telecom service provider is reinforcing its services in Ayodhya. Soni added three mobile phone towers have been installed at Maharshi Valmiki Airport, near Ram temple, and Tent City. Furthermore, eight additional towers are in the process of being installed at various locations, including Ayodhya Dham railway station and Ayodhya Cantonment railway station.
The official also highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the landline network through the upgrading of optical fiber. Currently, there are approximately 46,000 operational landline connections.
