HFCL launches 5G FWA solution for telcos, says trials underway with customers
Homegrown telecom gear maker HFCL on Friday launched its indigenously designed and developed 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) consumer premises equipment (CPE) for telecom operators, which it said will solve last-mile connectivity challenges and provide optical fiber-like connectivity to users via wireless fifth-generation networks.
HFCL said its 5G FWA products are already under trial with domestic and international customers. While citing industry estimates, it said the global 5G FWA market is expected to reach $68 billion by 2030.
“This indigenous development underscores HFCL’s unwavering commitment to shaping the future of communication and connectivity in the dynamic landscapes of India and beyond,” the company said.
HFCL said its 5G FWA gear deliver not only high-speed and reliable broadband access but will also improve device experiences, expanding accessibility, and providing faster speeds.
According to the company, its 5G FWA solution caters to multi-bands (sub-6 GHz, mmWave), multi-technology (5G Standalone and 5G non-standalone with LTE), indoor as well as outdoor which eliminates the constraints of a physical cable connection.
“Bridging the digital divide is not just a mission but a commitment to empower every citizen. Our 5G FWA Products stand as technological vanguards in achieving this transformative goal. In urban sprawls and remote villages alike, these equipment ensure seamless wireless broadband connectivity, revolutionizing communication, and information access,” said Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director at HFCL.
