Noise partners with Il Jin Electronics to manufacture smart wearables in India
Wearables brand Noise on Tuesday announced a joint venture with Il Jin Electronics, a subsidiary of Amber Enterprises India, for manufacturing, assembling and designing of wearables and other smart electronics products in India.
The joint venture aims to solidify Noise’s Make In India commitment with a focus on enhancing local value addition through in-house infrastructure development for product assembly, hardware design, and component manufacturing while prioritising quality, it said in a statement.
“Our partnership with Il Jin Electronics is a strategic milestone in our mission to strengthen India’s manufacturing capabilities,” said Amit Khatri, cofounder of Noise. “The partnership will leverage our expertise to enhance domestic manufacturing, fuel category expansion, and stimulate ecosystem-wide growth.”
As per the statement, Noise manufactures over 95% of its products in India.
Commenting on the tie-up, Jasbir Singh, chairman and CEO, Amber Enterprises India Limited, said, “Through this partnership, we look forward to creating a world-class local ecosystem for wearables and other smart electronic products, contributing further to the larger ‘Make in India’ initiative.”
ET had earlier reported that the latest report from electronic devices research agency IDC India showed Gurgaon-based Noise leading the pack in April-June in smartwatch shipments with a 27.6% market share, followed by Fire-Boltt with 23.8%, and Boat, with 15.2%.
In the January-March quarter, Fire-Boltt bested the competition with a 28.6% share.
