5G services launched in Mizoram

The 5G network was officially rolled out in Mizoram on Friday at a function attended by senior officials of the state information and communication technology department and internet service providers in Aizawl.

Earlier in the day, governor Hari Babu Kambhampati interacted with zonal officer and engineer from Bharti Airtel Ltd at the Raj Bhavan before the launch of 5G here.

They discussed the roll-out plan for the 5G network in the state, how to improve digital connectivity in rural areas and how the network service providers can play their roles in the same. As per the PP presentation made by the Airtel officials, Bharti Airtel Ltd is in the process of installing 5G towers at 53 and 10 locations in Aizawl and Lunglei districts, respectively.
