The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), UK in its phase-1 investigation into Microsoft’s anticipated acquisition of Activision Blizzard (ABK) concluded that the merger could substantially lessen competition in gaming consoles, multi-game subscription services and cloud gaming services (game streaming). CMA believes that the merger meets the threshold for reference to an in-depth phase 2 investigation.
