Mavenir to deploy cloud-based 5G solutions on Amazon Web Services
U.S.-based Mavenir has partnered with internet giant Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy 4G and fifth-generation or 5G products and applications on AWS’s infrastructure for telcos.
Additionally, Mavenir will leverage AWS’s container deployment and management technologies, and big data analytics services.
The solution is built to scale and uses the same tools and technologies offered by AWS to enterprise applications, an official statement said. These tools enable visibility and automation for any AWS-based offering also known as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
This partnership will help telcos in offloading some of the telco application business to cloud functions which will reduce complexity and bring them at par with organizations already benefiting from cloud migrations, the statement added.
Another key element of the partnership is the enablement of Private Networks and Edge deployments on AWS, powered by Mavenir’s Digital Enablement platform.
At the same time, Mavenir’s Edge AI application suite, a digital app store for applications such as IVA, AR/VR, IIoT, and Robotics Controls, enables the deployment of applications to power digitalization and Industry 4.0 with 5G.
Furthermore, the partnership also lowers the network deployment time and cost for telcos and enterprises, allowing them to fulfill use cases of either adding 5G and edge capabilities to an existing network or a greenfield 4G/5G network launch leveraging public clouds.
“Working with AWS enables us to bring new customer-focused 5G use cases and 5G deployments to the market faster and with unique capabilities to realize true 5G potential,” said Bejoy Pankajakshan, Mavenir’s Chief Strategy Officer.
“We’re delighted to collaborate with Mavenir to offer voice and messaging solutions for core network and RAN customers along with AI/ML solutions for orchestration and observability,” said Amir Rao, General Manager Telco Solution Portfolio and Tech Alliances, AWS.
