Airtel says to bear covid-19 vaccination cost for all employees
Telecom operator Bharti Airtel will cover the Covid vaccination cost for employees and their dependent, joining the growing enterpises in the country that are doing so.
The Sunil Mittal-led telco is currently looking at partnering with health care providers to vaccinate its employees and their families.
Companies like Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), Infosys Ltd and Flipkart have already pledged to pay for the two-dose shots of their staff.
In a communication to employees, Airtel CHRO said that the company will cover the Covid vaccination cost for employees and their dependent family members basis their insurance declaration, as a part of continued focus on health and wellness.
“In line with our commitment to ensure employee safety and comprehensive wellbeing, Airtel is looking at partnering with health care providers to vaccinate our employees and their families as eligible under the guidelines given by the government of India and as per approved procedures and timelines,” the CHRO said.
On 5 March, RIL said it will bear the vaccination cost for its 139,000 employees and their families, including spouse, children and parents. The Mukesh Ambani-led company expects to vaccinate around 900,000 people, including family members of employees.
