BSNL launches Cinema Plus bundled OTT service for subscribers
State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a ‘BSNL Cinema Plus’ service to offer its subscribers access to multiple OTT platforms with one subscription plan. This comes at a time when BSNL’s rivals Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have already upped their content game with various partnerships with players like ZEE5 Premium, Netflix, Amazon Prime, amongst others with various plans.
Though the bundled service will be priced at Rs 199 per month, it is currently being offered at an introductory price of Rs 129 for three months, as per media reports.
BSNL has partnered with YuppTV for the Cinema Plus service, and it claims to offer more than 300 TV channels and 8,000 movies across genres.
The BSNL Cinema Plus service will let users stream content from SonyLIV Special, YuppTV Premium, and Zee5 Premium on their PCs, smartphones, and smart TVs.
BSNL subscribers can avail of the service by signing up on the telco’s website using their BSNL phone number and other relevant details.
Once signed up, the service is available through an app available for Android, iPhone, Android TV, and Fire TV devices. It can also be accessed through a Web browser on desktops and laptops.
