Realme shipped 42.4 million smartphones globally in 2020

Chinese smartphone maker Realme became the fastest-growing smartphone brand in Q4 2020, coming in seventh place globally, according to market research firm Counterpoint Research.

It shipped 42.4 million smartphone units for the full-year, growing by 65% on-year, and held a market share of 3% during the year.

The smartphone brand also said it increased its presence in 61 countries, up from 35 markets in the starting of 2020. Its user base also grew by 100%, from 25 million to over 50 million.

Realme further said it has surpassed 50 million sales in nine quarters since its launch, making it the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the world.

It said it aims to launch new 5G enabled smartphones and AIOT products enhancing the TechLife experience in the year 2021.
