Steps taken to protect mobile towers: Punjab to HC

Adequate security personnel have been deployed to ensure no further damage was caused to mobile towers of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, the Punjab government told the Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday while responding to a petition filed by Jio, seeking action against “miscreants” for damaging its telecom infrastructure and business stores.

Punjab advocate general Atul Nanda said the state has deployed 1,019 patrolling parties in 27 districts and appointed 22 nodal officers to ensure no further damage was caused. Over 1,500 mobile towers have been damaged in Punjab.
